After reading through some posts I am not sure if this is possible but here it goes. Is it possible to set up a minimum qty across a range of products. IE products A, B & C with a minimum of 6. So the customer can order any combination of those products as long as they total at least 6. I am pretty sure there isnt a module for this but is it possible to code this some other way??

Anything's possible, it's just a matter of what it will take to write the necessary code, and whether you are willing to pay for a developer's time to write such code for you. I can see this as a definitely doable project, so contact a good MIVA developer for a quote. If it's within your budget - problem solved.

Hmmm there should be a section on the message board where people can post projects for developers to look over. Then the developers can contact offlist with a quote.

Just purchase the MinMax module by Bill Weiland (http://www.mivacentral.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&store_code=m&product_code=WCW-CIMQMIN&ref=jmh) (hurray to Bill - for writting great little modules). BTW You can prepare a list in excel and upload.

My module won't work for this scenario. It is targeted for each product code. klassic wants to combine multiple products to get a sum total.

This, and a few other similar posts got me thinking...do you really need to present the offer in this way? The reason I ask is too many times, I see request for functionality that, frankly, would baffle and fustrate shoppers (a classic i think, is the Buy one from CatA, two from CatB and get something from CatC at 50% off. I can't image the average shopper working through this effectively).

So, perhaps we move back to the summery page of the RFD...what exactly are you trying to achieve, along with specifics of the products and why you want to promote those products in this fashion. Perhaps an existing solution is available that does not include additional functionality.

Sorry Bruce. Like I said I didn't think it was possible. Sometimes you just throw stuff at the wall to see if it sticks. We have a supplier (Vermont Fleece Co.) who makes high qualitly fleece clothing and blankets but they have a minimum order amount of 12 pieces. This minimum doesn't matter if the pieces are sizes, colors, or even styles. We don't sell a lot of fleece clothing so keeping an inventory is not feasible. So basically if the customer can be made to order 6 pieces they will offset some of the cost of the other 6 we will have to order for inventory.

Our fallback option is to used bill's min/max and have a min qty of 6 for each style.

could you sell the product as a 6-pack? Use a text box for them to specify size color style...not the most foolproof or automatic, but if these are low volume items, might be doable.

We do custom fraternity and sorority clothing so we do extra embroidery to the clothing. So that wouldn't work. There are too many extra attributes that need to be chosen for each item. Thanx for the idea though.

Then it looks like a custom tailored module (function) or a lot of OpenToken code (probably too slow).

We do offer this service :) and on the list are also several other coders.
