View Full Version : related product formatting
HI, thanks for reading my post
http://seadreamswetsuits.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=SDW&Product_Code=DDJS&Category_Code=W
Wetsuit with jumpsuit and jacket sold separately.
Requirement: Sold on the same page with all attributes for both products configured to beable to order at the same time or not.
Not working:
1. The Jacket related attributes aren?t viewing; None of the sizes or colors are viewing.
The current "live" product page is showing fine for me but the ordering function isn?t great. It?s just not right.

Anyone interested in a little extra cash? I would love to have this done. Thanks.

Why not make the jumpsuit and jacket an attribute of a wetsuit and add all attributes of the jump/wetsuit also as additional attributes. BTW attributes can also have images.
hi,
What do you think of this?

I tried it but it still has ordering issues I can't figure out. Currenlty the buyer can order the product without any size chosen. The only thing I have been able to nail down is they have to choose a color.
Do you know what I am missing?
thanks

That is because they are making a selection of "no"
I have removed the "no". but that didn't resolve my ignorance. still goes right to the cart without needing to choose a size.
How do I get the drop down to require that the buyer make a choice before being sent to the shopping cart. I have checked the "required" field. What am I missing?
Be nice;)

Looks like you got it :) ... I had to choose all options.
Consider changing the layout. Use maybe a little jumpsuite and jacket icon instead of the text or make the text smaller.
Are you using any kind of template module?
I am a novice in Miva. I usually hire a guy but he must be too busy. Not my area. Is there a efficient way to shop for modules? so I am back to trouble shooting to just make it function using html. Also, I have been told that my host doesn't like open UI anyway.
thanks

Hostway sucks ... like telling somebody ... use only basic stuff ... who needs comfortable stuff
OpenUI opens up a whole new world of possibilities.
who would you recommend? Who also has Urchin and is $25.95 a month?

Do you want a good host or someone like hostway? You get what you pay for with hosting and miva merchant. Definitely checkout
Hostasaurus (http://www.hostasaurus.com) They will save you much more than $25.95 a month.
all good points. I will keep them in mind for bigger clients.
thanks

I got two favorite:
#1 Hostasaurus (http://www.hostasaurus.com/hosting.php)
#2 Wolfpaw (http://www.wpcomp.com/html/virtual_hosting.html) - scroll down
They may cost a little more (+$14) but you can't compare them with hostaway. It's like comparing Marshalls with Abercombie and Fitch ;)
