View Full Version : OUI Fatal Error: Problems getting new OUI working correctly

Hello:

I'm experimenting with OUI in MivaMia with my store to see how everything works. I have successfully installed it, and can start making changes to settings and screens without a problem. Then at some point, my entire store stops working -- no matter which page I go to, I get a "Fatal Error" saying that there is an "Unknown Screen".

I've now gone back and reset-up everything (2) times, and seem to keep getting to this point. I've seen some posts about OUI being imcopatible with some versions of the Miva Engine and getting Fatal Errors. Is this my problem?

I am using Dynamic Templates as well, but havn't really done anything yet to customize any screen -- just using the templates as they originally came from CBS.

The exact error message I'm getting is:

Miva Merchant has encountered a fatal error and is unable to continue. The following information may assist you in determining the cause of the error:

Error Code: OUI-00001 Description: Unknown Screen [TEMPLATE-SFNT]

My versions are:

OUI 4.956
CBS Dynamic Templates 4.56

Thoughts?

Ken

OpenUI and CBS Dynamic Templates are incompatible.

You use one or the other, not both.

I'd return the dynamic templates.

Vic: Thanks for the reply.

I'm confused now (not that I wasn't before). In Pam Hazelton's "Official Guide" book, she explicitly says that there is NO conflict between Dynamic Templates and and OpenUI (which is why I thought I was safe) on Page 174.

Is this something that was true at one point, but now they no longer work together?

Man, all of this UI combatibility crap is really driving me crazy and wasting LOTS of time!

Oh, also, when I did disable the "CBS-Token Library" for my store, it DID make my store start working...so, thanks for the advice!

Did you install the custom CBS MMUI? You can only use one UI, either MMUI, the CBS Modified MMUI, or OpenUI.

The templates will work, its the layout that may be in conflict.

It's confusing. There is OpenUI Supermod and Dynamic templates. Dynamic templates are horrible and cannot be used with OpenUI. OpenUI Supermod works with OpenUI, but you might find viking coders templates easier to use.
