I realize this is not a Miva issue, but I figure someone in the group probably knows what I am doing wrong. I optimized a few JPEG images using Jasc Paint Shop Pro X (PSP), I can see the image without a problem within PSP, but I cannot see the images once they are uploaded to the web server.
Have any ideas?

You most likely encoded them using a compression or color base (CMYK for example) that browsers do not understand.

Either that, or you uploaded them to the web server in text mode rather than binary, which would destroy the file format. It happens. Why don't you post a link to an image "before" and another to "after" this optimization, so that we can download these two files and see what the real problem is?

Or, as i find myself doing from time to time because of PSPs odd save as function, even though the file extension is .jpg...its still really a psp file.
(PSP appartenty does care what the extension is IF its a PSP file.)

Interesting... I can view the image in Photoshop if I download it, but it doesn't show in the web browser.
Something to ponder... JPEG supports three unique format options: baseline, baseline optimized, and progressive. There are some issues with the baseline optimized format and web browser compatibility. Progressive seems to be supported better. But, for the lowest common denominator between all browsers, only the standard "baseline" format should be used for web graphics. See if your PSP preferences are set to save JPEG images in the baseline optimized or progressive standards, and if so - change that to the standard baseline option, resave, upload to your web server, and see if you can view your optimized images then.

Tried to look at two images in browser.
Same result - see nothing.
>> any ideas <<
Opened them in PSP 9, then saved. File size now much bigger. Reopened, optimized one 30%, other 50%, saved again. Both ok now in browser and near same file size as originals. PFM

Jasc finally figured out what the problem was. The problem lied in the manner I choosed to optimized the images in Paint Shop Pro X, JEPG Optimizer, using Chroma subsampling YCbCr 4x4 2x2 2x2. Currently no browser supports this level of image optimization.
Thanks for the help everybody.
