I'm just getting my arms around MIVA Merchant 5 and I've got a problem that I can't seem to resolve. I've done a search in this forum but didn't find anything.

Basically, I'm setting up a store for a client of ours and for some reason, the product display pages aren't showing any information. If I go to the product list and then click on a product, the template appears but without any of the information (ie. product name, price, etc.). I've defaulted the PROD page back to the original version and still nothing is happening. I also looked at the url for the product and it seems to be correct. Here's an example.

merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=M&Product_Code=LPBL&Category_Code=BAB2

Does anyone have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Ah, need the full URL....also, do you have products assigned to that category?

When you click to restore the original PROD template code, are you clicking on Recall, then Update?

Here's the url. It's only day three for me working with this so it's still very rough.

I also double checked and I did restore PROD to the original version (original > recall > submit)

Do you have HTML in your product description? And did you create the product in admin or import them from a file?

The product description is just regular text and not html. Also, I created the products through the admin.

Looks like something is very wrong. The HTML in the product area looks incomplete.

Are you using mivasql backend or MySQL? If mivasql, try packing and see what happens.

I'm not sure if this makes a difference but it looks like I've got the "MMUI Product Display Layout" installed twice under the code "product" and "product_display" in the items list. However, for the PROD page, I only have "product_display" assigned. Could this possibly be the problem?

What do you mean MMUI Product List Layout installed twice under the code?

And yes, the PROD page (under Items) should have head, hdft, store, product, inventory, category, body, navbar, colors, product_list, product_display, fonts, buttons, customerlink, afiiliatelink, product_attributes, and prod_ctgy_hdft items active by default.

Turn them back on. Then if you dont need some of them, turn them off one at a time checking your display.

Hi Vic,

I thought this one through and decided to go ahead and delete the current store and start from scratch. The way I see it, I've already spent too much time on this problem and I could probably rebuild what I had in a few hours.

I just wanted to say thank you for your advice and for responding so promptly to my problem. You're a true asset to this forum.

Thanks.
