Duplicate Orders

I have a site that is getting one full order then right after getting 2 more orders from the same customer but with no order contents and no payment information when viewed in unbatched orders. What would be the cause of this? It doesn't happen on a regular basis, and I have not been able to reproduce the problem.

This site is very busy, and I have deleted all expired baskets just in case.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What happens when you pack store and domain data files? Any errors?

Nope, basic Merchant 5 setup.
