We are looking for someone to either build a module for Miva5 and Canada Post or help to integrate Canada Post into our site.

If everyone looking for a Canada Post module would reply to this it might help motivate someone to make one :)

Thanks

OK, I've been doing a little research at the CPC Web site. Apparently, this would be a pretty complex shipping module. The CPC requires that you specify the length/width/height of each item, which means the shipping module has to have an extra database for all this, and admin screens where you can enter the settings, and possily an import module so you can rbing the data in from a text file.

Also, there's this: "In the event of an outage, it is required that you display your own flat rates to your customers; these could be the same as the default rates in your profile. This will enable your customers to complete their purchases in the event of service outage." This adds to the complexity of the module, if it really is "required" in the legal sense -- can any of you Canadians advise me on that?

If there's enough interest, I could put this project on my calendar for later in the the Summer.

Thanks --

Ok, I called Canada Post today (for some stuff I was shipping) and while I was on permahold I heard an option for help adding shipping options to a website so I will call tomorrow and see what thats about, now chances are I won't have a clue what they are talking about but at least I will have an idea of the help they may be able to offer.

Thanks

I have been looking for someone to create or implement a Canada Post shipping module since the beginning of Feb. 06. Because the module from canada post is very extensive (module is called Sell online) no one has been interested. It is WAY beyond my coding expertise. So I have to wait until some kind genius coder decides he wants to help out us poor Canadians.

I WISH someone would do something...anything would be better than having to calculate the shipping costs by hand everytime a customer places an order.

Maybe we could all get together and split the costs for the module to be created?

We would definiatly be willing to share the development costs, who else is in?

PS For developers I found a link for more info:

Canada Post also reffered me to this company, but they do not have a phone #:

That is the company I have been trying to get the module from since the beginning of the year. They said it might be ready this summer but when I emailed him to ask if it was ready, he never replied. I have emailed him many times since ('cause I REALLY need this module) but he has never replied. I think he fell off the face of the earth or went on an extended vacation.

Not sure...but now I am back to square one. I got a quote from viking coders once to do the module. It was pretty pricy, but if I can split the cost between a couple companies. It would make it better for all of us. Plus whoever does decide to make the module...I'm positive other Canadian companies would be interested in buying this module.

This adds to the complexity of the module, if it really is "required" in the legal sense -- can any of you Canadians advise me on that?

Kent,
I also offer UPS shipping to my customers so It wouldn't be necessary for my company. I would check with other companies as well. Maybe you could offer different levels of the module? One with this option and one without?
