Microsoft calls for websites to be re-authored to prevent conflicts with upcoming security patch and IE 7. Change could have negative impact on rich media and advertising across the Internet.
Thoughts?
Seems like it applies to interactive embedded content. Sad thing is that you now need to ckick on the content, click on a popup message then start accessing the content BUT the annoying advertisements usually don't require user interaction (unless you have interest in what they are offering) so they generally don't seem like they will be affected.
On the other hand, score one for the IT people. For every bad news Microsoft announces, a few more IT positions open up. One would hope.

I'm so sick of browsers dictating code. There are standards and it seems IE is the one setting them, and the problems fall right on the users.
Every time they do an update, there's some online tool that won't work with the new version. I.e. QB Online users couldn't upgrade a while back due to the changes. Of course, if they already did, they couldn't access their accounts. And Intuit takes the heat...

All the more reason to go to Firefox! :D
It's my primary browser, however I still use IE for cross-browser testing, and the Miva Admin.

http://my.opera.com/community/graphics/front/staffpost.gif I don't think i could live without my Opera. If it wasn't for cross-browser testing, i would have removed IE from my computer a long time ago
