Hi, I was originally using the DHL module in Miva 5 (with free shipping if customers spent more than $99.99), but realized shipping prices were not in my clients' best interests (e.g. the lowest weight DHL can calculate is 1 lbs, but 75% of my packages will weigh less than 1 lb.), so I switched to the default Miva 5 USPS module. I've been trying to figure out how to still implement free shipping if customers spend more than $99.99 but can't figure out how to. All the other standard modules offer things I can't use, such as weight based shipping. How can I offer this service to my customers using the existing shipping modules, and if not, what module can I buy?
Thank you for your help,

If you wanted to offer, say free shipping to US customers only (or by another country or states, even) you could use a zone module to set the order subtotal restriction.
You'll find some zone modules for version 5 here:

Thanks Pamela, I'll look into the link you sent.

The problem I see with using the modules you describe is that I want to use the USPS calculator to figure out the right price and service, and just determine by total order cost if free shipping should be offered. The modules you sent are either base + weight or base + number of units, or weight table which at this point I would not feel comfortable guessing or figuring out how much to charger per certain weights. Any other modules you may think of? Thank you, --R

Actually, these two handle subtotal:

Hi Pamela, Okay, great, sounds like both would work, and since I only ship to US, might as well go with the "by state" rather than the "by world zone" module. What if I later want to offer world shipping? do I need to un-install the "by state" module and then buy/instal the "by world zone" module? or can they co-exist? Thanks --R

No, you wouldn't have to.
If you will never restrict it by state, go with the World Zone. If you think you'll set it by state, get the state zone. You can always add the World Zone later for outside US configurations.
They can co-exist.

No, I won't restrict it by state, so I'll just go with World Zone then. Thanks for your help. I thought I was out of luck.

One more silly question, will this module work with USPS?
http://www.designextend.com/page/miva/PROD/w-sortship
If you set the only range of subtotals to be over $100, then the customer will see their regular USPS methods and only see the subtotal based free shipping when the order exceeds $100. You can have multiple shipping modules in your store. The customer is going to select the one that gives them the best rate and still meet their needs. So you may make the free shipping label "Free Ground Shipping". If the customer wants overnight shipping, they will pass on the free stuff and go with the USPS overnight.
I use the "Sort Shipping Plus Free Shipping Option" by William Weiland. It works great for FREE shipping. I use it for all orders over $35.

Thanks Bill, I've already bought and implemented your "sort ship with free shipping" module and it works exactly the way you describe. I like that the person can still choose a different method if they are in a hurry. Thanks, for your help. (Linda you too ;)

Thank you Terral for your feedback. The module was very easy to setup.
