View Full Version : Merchant accounts
In searching out the best deal on merchant accounts I'm finding that they nickel and dime you to death! How frustrating!!! :(
Is there any company that anyone recommends that has resonable rates, and are easy to deal with?
I've been quoted anywhere from 2.85%, 25 cents per trans AND a monthly fee of $10 and then the set up fee to 2.45%, 25 cents per trans no fees and no set up. But then the lower companies were frustrating to deal with and not helpful. I had to pry information out of them.
So any help would be greatly appreciated!

You're best bet is to always check with a local bank with which you have an established banking relationship with.
In most cases, they can offer you better rates through bundles they have or because you are an existing customer.
If your bank does not offer this, then just shop around. I would be very wary of the 'discount' plans...as you really do get what you pay for in the e-commerce industry. Lower prices generally indicate lower quality when you need real help.
Sticking with a reputable, known provider may cost a little more, but you'll see the difference in the service you get.
We do offer full Merchant Account packages, contact us offlist if you would like more information and pricing.

Liana,
We offer several different options on merchant accounts, payment gateways, etc - the whole back-end set of features for running one's online store and processing electronic payments. Feel free to contact us at any time if you still need help with a merchant account and/or payment gateway. The options we have have lower rates than you've been quoted, too, which is another nice bonus.

BTW, if you do need more info, please contact us directly, not through this forum, as this will require some financial background and info that we shouldn't be sharing with the whole world here. All our contact info is posted on our web site.

Keep in mind, PayPal is not a bank, your funds are not insured at all and you are at the mercy of their rules. They have been known to completely freeze accounts for up to 90 days while they investigate chargebacks.
That means no money in OR out. And you have no recourse on their decision.
Bad choice as a primary payment option. I'd consider it a last straw option.
We too offer complete Merchant Account solutions, contact offlist for more information.
