or am i missing something more elementary.

Trying to copy a file from the data directory to script. Site uses a symlink to /www (and CGI bin rewrite)...and its not copying.

Files are there...directories are there...yet?

Just an idea - check the mivavm.conf. Check the security level - maybe you can't climb the symbolic tree... seems to me the setting is 15 or 16...

Never ever set securityoptions to 16 (unless you are building a honey-trap for hackers)! That lets the access to the disk root open! That's probably the worst ever possible misconfiguration of Miva Empresa.
