&mvt:category:name; on PROD page is blank

Whenever I try to use &mvt:category:name; or &mvt:category:code; on the product page (PROD) it just comes up blank.

&mvt:store:name; etc works fine, but the category ones don't work.

The following are ticked in items -

category (by default)
category_tree (by default)
category_title (ticked by me)
catonprd (by default)

They work just fine in the CTGY page but how do I get them to display on the PROD page?

Easiest way to work with the Miva Items is to download the Latu.net Miva 5 Store Helper. It will provide all the variables you are looking for... and it is free.

ok, tried that and... it's not available as a local or global variable for the product page...That's not surprising, because a product can be part of many categories in the same time. So to get the list of categories a product is member of, you need a short script looking up the database table keeping the Product to Categories associations.

ah yes, that makes sense. But that also sounds too compilicated, I'm trying custom fields instead.

You indicated you have the catonprd module. If it is assigned the the page, you can display all of the categories the product is in. You can find the tokens to put the category(ies) on the prod page template at http://www.emporiumplus.com/v5/catonprd.htm

The category:code and category:name variables are only available on the PROD screen if you link from the CTGY screen or if the Category_Code variable in the query string has a valid value.
