Dear Bruce,
I have clients who have a low of about 30 to high of about 10,000.
But the average I would say is about 750.
It will be interesting to see the results.

Bruce,
Are you not interested in stores that are bigger, ie: have far more than 30K items? I think the largest store we host has a little over 1.1 million products right now, just in case you are looking for where the client base may be on the higher end of the spectrum.

just general...not extremes.
For my three sites:
637
668
1507
All are still growing...

In that case, we have clients that sell anywhere from just one to 1.1 million products. The vast majority falls in the 20-5000 products, though. If we were to build a bell curve, the drop off outside of these ranges would be pretty dramatic.

Our main store (http://www.farmlandtractor.com) has about 27,600 products and it's sister site (http://www.aidiesel.com) has about 4,000.

I guess I should have asked before I voted, but are you looking for active products or just products that have been created ever.

I would say "current products in store; active and inactive."

36,522 SKU's and searching for another solution, even with Sql the system is on the slow boat to nowhere..

Are you sure it is Merchant and not your host? Who is your host? What is the url to the store?

www.terminaltractorparts.com (http://www.terminaltractorparts.com)
I am my own host, the site is hosted onsite with me.
Seemed to be doing fine. About 1 second for each page I tried.

I should have clarified ;) the management of the products is almost impossible the site's client browsing speed and searchs are excellent but what good is that if you cant batch manage the items. I think a thirsty interface may fix this or managing directly through SQL but I am not sure if that is a option.
I think storeman 5 is about to be released. Lots of folks used it in their 4x stores and were happy with it.

Dear JobesMind,
What kind of server are you on? It may not be a Miva Merchant issue, but a hosting issue.

StoreMan5 may indeed be the solution that you need. Still working on a few last minute issues (not even bugs necessarily...just some housekeeping stuff). Should be out real soon.
