A Price Groups Question

We want to sell our products at the list price, but automatically apply a discount to registered users. So that if a customer purchases a product, they can pay full tilt or register and get the discount applied automatically.

How might this be best set up?

Create a price group and set the price break. Put all the products in it. If you want to insert customers automatically into the price group you could use the Emporium Plus Tool Kit function pgrpinsert. See #42 at http://www.emporiumplus.com/go/wcw/PROD/1AA/1AA00223

That looks interesting, and it's affordable too. I'm still running a v5.0 store but I anticipate upgrading to v5.5 in the next month or two, has that module been tested with Merchant v5.5?

Yes, it is used by both 5.0 and 5.5 stores. Almost all modules work with both 5.0 and 5.5. The Merchant API did not change. However, to take advantage of new features, some modules were updated. This one is an example as it has support for the category and product meta tags which are now built into 5.5.
