Would anyone have an idea of where the below error could be referring to? I have Miva merchant 4.22 and Linkpoint gateway and a dedicated server. My host upgraded the commerce library for linkpoint because of an error "Unable to authorize payment-Linkpoint not supported" Now it says "Unable to authorize payment-Malformed URL. My payment configuration under Linkpoint states the correct store, server and port and the digital cert is in. Thanks in advance.

What version of the MIVA Engine are you running on?
What version and distribution of the Linkpoint Commerce Library did the host install?
What version of the Linkpoint Payment Module are you using?
These would be very helpful pieces of the puzzle to help solve your issue.

Thanks for your help.
1. Miva Engine v4.11
2.This is what the host installed.
Module has been added to:
/home/virtual/site1/fst/usr/lib/miva-empresa/lib/ics2-v4.1407-linux_glibc2.so
and mivavm.conf has been edited with the following:
<COMMERCE-LIB METHOD = "LinkPoint" LIBRARY = "/home/virtual/site1/fst/usr/lib/miva-empresa/lib/ics2-v4.1407-linux_glibc2.so">
3.I don't know where to find the Linkpoint module version unless I call my host.

Hmm, you may want to get them to update that engine version to 4.14, well may as in you may have to, you should want them to do it regardless as that's an old version but the 4.14 commerce library may contain requirements that the 4.11 engine version cannot satisfy, particularly in the area of making remote connections. I'm thinking it might be that because the Linkpoint mod doesn't connect using normal HTTP methods, it uses their own API and that's not an error I've seen it produce before.

Sure you can. In your admin, click the dropdown for Modules and find the Cardservice Intl/Linkpoint Payment module and click on it.
On the right pane, you will be shown the module version, along with a few other pieces of information about the module.

My Cardservices/Linkpoint module is v4.22
My Miva Merchant is v4.22
My Miva Engine is v4.11
Does the engine need to be updated to 4.14v to get Linkpoint to use this module?

You'll want to download the 4.2403 Linkpoint module from http://smallbusiness.miva.com/support/downloads/ It will resolve a number of errors. It may require the 4.14 engine though, but since things aren't working anyway there's no harm in putting the new module on and trying it and then if it still doesn't work try to get your host to upgrade you to 4.14 engine.

I may need to upgrade the Miva Engine myself as I am on a dedicated server. Any advice for a newbie on a tutorial and download link for this?

Going from a 4.x engine to 4.14 should be pretty easy as you can just overwrite the files typically. You'd want to be careful though because how you upload them, where you put them and what permissions you set on them all have the potential to break something if not done the way the server requires. Typically the engine file is named mivavm and will be in your site's cgi-bin folder. Ideally you'd find the lib directory there too. If that's the case, you may be able to just load the 4.14 mivavm file and associated lib directory on top of what's there and be done with it. If it's not there though, it may be installed elsewhere on the server and that's when you'd probably need some assistance from the hosting company or whoever set the engine up originally.

O.K. I can see I will need to convince my host that it is in their best interest to resolve this as I do not think I want to mess with the cgi bin and this is something that was supposed to be functional when I purchased/rented it from them. I can update the module if it needs it. Thank you for the direction.
