Turn Off NavBar - How?

Running compiled 4 with openui I would like to know how to turn off the navbar. I removed the navbar cells, but the navbar without the links remains visible. How do I remove it completely or at least turn it off? Additionally, is there a way to do this without actually deleting the navbar cells?
