Am I correct in assuming that any MM5 modules will work with MM5.5? I have been to a few developer's websites and didn't see mention about 5.5 specific mods.

Thanks, Eli

Yes, Miva Merchant 5 modules will work with MM5.5. However, make sure you update to the latest version.

Updating to the latest version of modules is not mandatory unless you are using the order manager from stone edge.

However certain modules have new features, like Power Search and Template Data Feed which can use the new product and category meta tags. Others may have subtle color changes to match the new admin color scheme; hence not mandatory. The various category manager modules which have multiple templates for categories will make the head tag change if you update them so that may save you some time over doing it manually. I believe Sebenza's product template module needs updating because of the attribute template. Addendum has a new modified merchant email module if you are including responses in the email (optional).

So it is not necessary to update everything. Only one (Addendum) of the Emporium Plus modules needs updating and that is only if you are using its email module for sending responses to the merchant. The rest work fine, as they did in 5.0.

Conversely, is it ok to install the upgraded modules for 5.5 while staying with Miva 5.0 for a few weeks longer?

Not a good idea. Modules changing head tags and trying to use non-existing product/category meta tags, etc would cause problems. They should not be updated until Merchant is updated.

Sebenza's Category and Product Template Managers both require a module update to work in 5.5.
