Delete Product Images

I don't seem to be able to find the Features Wish List thread and probably it is too early for this... however is it possible in a future release to include – if this is feasible technically – within the Product Delete function an option (a tick box) to delete the images related to that product ?

What happens if more than one product use the same stock image? It would have to check potentially thousands of other products to make sure that image was not used by them.

This type of feature would require also that all images are uploaded to the general location specified in domain settings - and possibly that you have the images assigned to products within the database - both of which many stores don't do.

My product images are based on product_code.jpg with a _tn suffix for the thumbnails. No image is used for more than one product.

If I have a text file containing the names of image files that are no longer in use, is there an automated method (i.e. FTP program or command) to delete them from the graphics directory?

If you host there, I think hostasaurus might have something like that they use on the server side if provided a file of your image names.
