View Full Version : International Orders
Is Google Checkout capable of taking international orders? I have read that it is, but I cant figure out how to turn it on or whatever.

Luke,
We have not been able to successfully create a Google Checkout module that works with international shipping. Our last release of the module was supposed to fix whatever the problem is but sadly it did not.
I have a couple of merchant's in line to test as soon as we have another version and I would be happy to add you to the list if you like.

Hi Jim,
We have been using Merchant on our server since 1999. We are up to v4.23. It has served us well with wealth of good features and support. Our only problem with Miva is that it doesn't work well for our international and softgoods (ebook file downloads) customers who want to use Google checkout. This is beginning to become a major concern for us as the popularity of Google Checkout continues to grow.
Question: Is Miva planning to complete full Level II integration with Google Checkout? Is so, when and with which version?
We are trying to decide whether we should upgrade to Merchant 5 or switch to another shopping cart vendor such as AbleCommerce who claims to have perfected this integration already.
Thanks,
Jeff

We're working on this as we speak and it should be released this summer.

I'm using Miva 5.5 and if a new Google Checkout module that will enable international shipping becomes available in a beta form I would be more than happy to test it for you:)
I get numerous complaints almost daily because our store is 100% miva 5.5 and our clients cannot use it to order goods if they are outside of the USA (Majority of our online orders are from the EU, UK, Australia, New Zealand).
Thanks for any assistance.

Yes it will allow that and I don't think you need to test, their back in Dev right now working on releasing it tonight.

YES!!! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Will this be something received thru the update within Miva or a download?
I can't wait! Thank you again!

Sometime this year, we're way backlogged on the roadmap. But we're pushing through :)

Thanks! Just got the update and the test shows it is accepting International orders but for some reason it is not showing the international shipping options that store has (USPS International Priority, Int'l Flat Rate Envelope etc..). It just shows 3 USA shipping options. I will look thru the boards to see if there are already posts on this, unless you have any input? Thank you again for the module update. Much appreciated! :)

This is a known problem and will be fixed in core-14. In order for international customer to get the international rates, you must only use 1 shipping module. If you have more than one it won't display the international shipping methods for some reason but if you only have USPS configured, you can checkout with the correct methods. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
