I am not sure if this is currently possible by cobbling together several modules with some code or not but this is what i would like to have made for my web store:
First, here is my website - www.amhdesignonline.com
I am curently treating each color variation of a product as a separate product which is making for a lot of products on my category pages (when they are just color variations of the same product). Instead, while i still want to keep each color variation as a separate product in the back-end of MIVA (so that i can keep better inventory control with Quickbooks), on the front-end that the customer sees, i would like the product page template to show one large photo and several small photos of the other color variations (see this link for visual image of the set-up- http://www.verilux.com/full-spectrum-portables/portable-craft-lamp).
When the customer clicks on one of the smaller product photos, i would like it to change the product page to the page for that other color variation.
It will look to the customer like they are just seeing the other color variation product picture as the big picture on the page, but in actuality the entire page is being replaced by an identical one with all of the details and photos of this other color variation (the smaller product photos will still be shown as well).
I hope this description is clear. I know that there is a module (that i have already purchased but not installed) for adding additional product views to the product template page. I would just like to embed a link inside those additional product images to redirect to a new MIVA product page.
Also, I am looking for a solution to my stores page. I currently have to update it through a WYSIWYG editor called snippetmaster and it is a pain. Is there any way to make a small database (excel?) which can automatically update the page? I'd like to ideally show a map of the US cut into 3 sections- NE,MW,W. When the customer clicks on a section of the map, it will bring up a new page with the list of stores for that region organized by state. Does anyone have a way to do this or a module?
Thanks.
