for Miva 4 and Miva 5 sites, our company needs disclosure terms to appear on the product page, shopping carts' checkout pages, and invoice page and confirmation e-mail under each product line item.
On the product page, each product that requires the customer's agreement would need an "opt-in" type checkbox with its corresponding terms below before the user can add it to the shopping cart.
[] I agree to the following terms:
I agree to be Automatically Updated, so that future supplements and
revised editions of this product will be automatically sent to me as
published for my 30-day risk-free review, not more than 2 times annually. I
understand that if i do not want to keep this edition, I must return within
the trial period ...(more verbiage follows) ...
There would be four possible types of product agreement disclosures. Some products might need
These disclosures would also need to be summarized on the invoice page and confirmation e-mail:
For example:
Qty Product Code Product Name Price
1 ABC123 ABC Journal $100.00
You will receive future supplements and
revised editions of this product
automatically as published for a 30 day
risk-free review, not more than 2 times
annually
1 XYZ011 XYZ Journal $175.00
You will receive all published updates
to this product at no additional charge
for the subscription period.
This is crucial; these disclosures and "I agree" codes must be in place. The site is using a mixture of HTML as product description pages and Miva PRODUCT pages as "Add to Cart" pages, and we need to have those disclosures appear on checkout and on confirmations so that users will understand what they are buying, and they must agree to the terms before adding the item to the cart. Please contact me for more information. We had over $1M in online sales last year, and we don't want to lose any customers due to bad will!
