Miminum shipping amount / restrict shipping by item?

Is there any way (or module) that can set a minimum shipping amount? I am using the Shipping supermod. We send a lot of items by first class mail and I want to have a minimum shipping amount set for first class, but not for priority. Miva allows you to add a handling charge, but it is a blanket charge for all shipping methods.

Also, is there a way to restrict available shipping methods based on items in basket? For instance, if the customer orders glue, I want to restrict the shipping to UPS Ground (and not air).

Create a Flat Rate shipping method called First Class (or whatever you want to call it). Then in Shipping Supermod restrict it by weight and country. You may need to create several Flat Rate methods for various weights of packages

Click on edit of item in question, click on CBS supermod link, uncheck all the methods which are not allowed. This will restrict basket, by most restrictive method.
